Here is the famous Boulevard Saint Germain, with its sophisticated fashion shops and select restaurants. In addition, there are nice pubs and cafes, the well-known Maubert open-air market and, a little farther, the Mouffetard open-air market with all kinds of French specialties -- fresh French baguettes and pastries, seafood, choice fruits, vegetables, and unique sorts of cheeses.
